Faith

10:16 PM

Fours years ago, I was a junior in high school and didn't understand a whole lot about government and stuff like that. I knew I was a conservative and wanted a republican president, but I've learned so much since then.

The majority of my knowledge about this actually came from my father-in-law who taught my high school senior seminary class [kinda funny huh? :-)]
That's really where I learned that everything comes down to what is right and what is wrong, even politics.
I never thought about politics like that before.
He said that's he not a political kind of person, he just goes by The Book of Mormon.
So right then, I understood that one should choose their political party by reading The Book of Mormon.
To this day, that's still so interesting to me. Because it illustrates how The Book of Mormon is literally applicable to everything. You read it, and then you see which political party is the best match.
Better yet, just take any question you have to The Book of Mormon.
You'll find your answer, no worries :-)

Wow, writing this post is actually making me feel a lot better already, since I found out just a little while ago that our nation will be on dangerous grounds for another 4 years.
Just talking about The Book of Mormon comforts me :-)
The gospel brings such peace, optimism, and light to my life.

When I found out that there was no change in the White House I thought two different things.

1) What is this world coming to?
2) Mosiah 29:26-27

"26 Now it is not common that the avoice of the people desireth anything bcontrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the cpeople to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people.
27 And aif the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land." (Mosiah 29:26-27)

So now that I'm much older and mature, I better understand the need for a righteous president. And just righteous governmental leaders in general.
The world is getting more and more scary and dangerous. I'm a little scared for my kids, who aren't even born yet, because it will keep getting worse.
But I have faith because I know they will listen to me and Jensen. We will teach them correct principles so they will be safe and happy :-)
